Nissan Reveals All-New Titan Full-Size Pickup for New York Drivers

CHICAGO (Feb. 11, 2016) – Nissan TITAN will be available in 4x2 or 4x4 drive configurations with three cabin configurations – Crew Cab, King Cab and Single cab – and three bed lengths – 5.5, 6.5 and 8 feet. Similar to TITAN XD, TITAN will be available in five trim levels – S, SV, PRO-4X, SL and Platinum Reserve. The TITAN will be powered by Nissan’s 5.6-liter Endurance® V8 gasoline engine capable of 390 horsepower and 401 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine will be mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. A V6 gasoline engine will also be available (details to be announced at a later date).

Joining the award-winning Nissan Titan XD pickup this summer is the all-new “standard” half-ton Titan, recently shown at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show. For truck buyers who don’t need the heavy-duty capability of the Titan XD, the Titan provides the features and capabilities truck buyers have come to expect in the half-ton pickup segment.

Although the Titan and Titan XD share styling and the cab size, the two vehicles ride on completely separate chassis, with no components shared between them. The standard Titan is nearly 15 inches shorter than the Titan XD, but still provides the same levels of interior room.

Just like the Titan XD, the Titan is available in five trim levels – S, SV, PRO-4X, SL and Platinum Reserve. Buyers will have the choice between two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, three cab configurations (Crew Cab, King Cab and Single Cab) and three bed lengths (5.5, 6.5 and 8 feet). Together with the Titan XD, Nissan will cover nearly 85 percent of the full-size truck market.

The 2017 Nissan Titan will be powered by Nissan’s 5.6-liter Endurance V8 engine, which produces 390 hp and 401 lb.-ft. of torque. The powerful engine is backed by a 7-speed automatic transmission for improved fuel economy. Nissan is also planning on offering a V6 gasoline engine, with details coming later this year.

The Nissan Titan XD has also continued to win awards, being named a 2016 Drivers’ Choice by MotorWeek. The judges were impressed by the Titan XD’s heavy-duty capability and powerful Cummins 5.0-liter V8 Turbo Diesel engine that can tow up to 12,300 pounds when properly equipped.
